Moving Towards Subtle Sensitivity

At Bhav, we practice yoga to cultivate subtlety within ourselves. The bhav, the mood or attitude we invite you to bring is a spiritual practice, an attitude and desire to understand yourself more fully. The more subtle we become in our being, the more we operate from a higher vibration. This elevated state allows us to perceive ourselves and the world from a heightened perspective, offering greater clarity and insight.

Our journey towards subtlety involves moving up the spine, where we encounter energy centres known as chakras. At the base of the spine lies the Muladhara Chakra, a dense energy cluster characterised by four lines of energy intersecting at right angles. As we ascend, the next two chakras feature six and then ten energy lines, respectively. These lower three chakras—Muladhara, Svadhisthana, and Manipura—govern our sense of security, acquisition of material things, and relationship to personal power. Unfortunately, this is where the majority of humanity remains confined, caught in the dense vibrations of survival, desire, and ego.

Through the practice of Tantra Hatha Yoga, we activate the master switch of the Navel Chakra, or Manipura, which embodies the fire element within us. This internal fire heats and liberates the density of these lower energy centres, facilitating a transformative process. As the dense energies of Muladhara, Svadhisthana, and Manipura become liberated, we gain the ability to view years, decades, and even lifetimes of stored issues from a more expansive, liberated, and subtle place. The burdens that once held us captive lose their grip, allowing us to move beyond old patterns and limitations.

With this newfound liberation, we can live more authentically, expressing ourselves from the heart and higher chakras. The heart chakra (Anahata) and the upper centres of communication (Vishuddha), intuition (Ajna), and spiritual connection (Sahasrara) open up, enabling us to create more space within. This expanded inner space allows us to experience the most subtle aspects of our being and even transcend them.

In this state of subtle sensitivity, we are no longer just a drop in the ocean of existence; we become the ocean itself. Our individual consciousness merges with the universal, and we experience a profound sense of oneness. The yoga practice at Bhav therefore, is not merely about physical postures or breath control. It is a journey towards subtlety, a path that leads us to operate from higher vibrations and see the world through a lens of expanded awareness and deeper understanding.

By embracing this path, we invite a higher state of being, one that transcends the limitations of the lower chakras and allows us to live from a place of authenticity, compassion, and spiritual freedom.
