THE CHAKRAS - Manipura

The third universal force in nature is FiRE. Another name for it is combustion, an energy that sparks transformation both in the material world and also on a subtler level. In both cases, fire is the birthplace of our assimilative force.

Located in the abdomen, physiologically speaking it helps with the digestion process and likewise on a mental and emotional level it allows us to digest life.

This radiant solar power in the navel was of supreme importance to the ancient Yogis as it's the body's major energy distribution centre and the storehouse of unlimited power and evolved perception. In the natural world we see and feel this force as light and heat. It is called Manipura Chakra.

The Manipura Chakra is associated with personal power, willpower, and self-esteem. When this chakra is balanced and flowing, it enables an individual to feel confident and empowered, able to manifest their desires and intentions in the world. People with a balanced Manipura Chakra are often charismatic, assertive, and successful in achieving their goals.

However, an imbalanced Manipura Chakra can show up as feelings of powerlessness, low self-esteem, and a lack of motivation. Physical symptoms of an imbalanced Manipura Chakra may include digestive problems, diabetes, and liver issues. A person with an overactive Manipura Chakra may display traits of being controlling, aggressive, or domineering, while an underactive Manipura Chakra can lead to feelings of helplessness, anxiety, and depression.

To balance the Manipura Chakra yoga practice, meditation and mindfulness. Practicing self-care, setting boundaries, and expressing oneself creatively can also help to balance this chakra. By doing so, an individual can tap into their inner strength and power, leading to increased confidence, motivation, and overall wellbeing.
