HEALING POWER

Yoga is far more than just the shapes we create on the mat. When we shift our focus from the aesthetics of these poses to their deeper functions, we can quickly transform our energy, perspective, and perceptions of ourselves and the world around us.

For me, healing involves bringing consciousness to the unconscious. This transformation can occur at any level within our being—our body, energy, and mind. Beyond asana, the physical component of yoga, we have other techniques that amplify and deepen our healing practice. Tools like pranayama (breath control), kumbhaka (breath retention), and bandhas (energy locks) enable us to penetrate subtler layers of our being with precision and intention. Sound, particularly through mantra, plays a crucial role in this process.

Historically, mantras were the prescribed remedy for various ailments and diseases. In the Tantra Hatha Yoga tradition, we have access to five potent mantras, each with immense healing power. These include AUM, Rama, So Hum, Gayatri, and the profoundly transformative Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.

This week at Bhav Yoga Studio, we reach the culmination of our current Yoga Teacher Training program. As part of this milestone, we will explore some extraordinary healing practices, including the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra and Rudra practices. These techniques are designed not only for self-healing but also for universal healing.

We invite you to join us and experience the profound healing power of these ancient practices. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or new to yoga, these sessions offer a unique opportunity to deepen your practice and connect with the transformative energies within and around you.

We hope you can make it.
