THE 8 LIMBS OF YOGA: DHYANA

Dhyana is the second stage of the meditation process. Once we’ve actively focused our mind to a single object during Dhyana, awareness now begins to flow effortlessly.

This perception shift can be likened to the intellect being transcended by intelligence. The thinking mind stops fluctuating (or at least slows down).

With repetition and dedication the mind will slowly take on the object's characteristics and become more and more like the chosen object in the way it sees, thinks, feels and acts. Therefore at this stage of the practice it becomes very important to choose the right mediation object.

This doesn't just happen during the practice. These qualities will continue to endure and shape us afterwards, impacting our future. Looking forward to seeing you on the mat this week as we explore Dhyana.
