THE TANTRIC YAMAS & NIYAMAS: ISHVARAPUJANA
‘Worship of the lord’
Worship and practice daily. I’ve noticed since having a daily practice that my life has become more peaceful. I am able to move through things more quickly. I have the ability to shift perspectives and see the current situation from a different place, rather than being ‘stuck’ in amongst the ‘thing’.
When we have our attention or intention on something bigger than us (a higher intelligence, the universe, God, or what ever you’d like to call it), we can not help but guide ourselves towards that bigger thing. Especially when our attention or intention is regular and consistent.
The bigger the effort, the greater the reward. When our practices become rituals, what may start as a corner shrine may, over time, become the whole room.
Gurudeva insightfully defined worship as ‘communicating on a very high level’. A truly sophisticated form of "channeling," as New Age people might say. Some mystics would describe it as A clairvoyant or clairaudient experience. Or, heart-felt love interchanged between Deity and devotee, as the ordinary Hindu would describe it.
I invite you to use your practice this week to understand where you’re at in your dedication. Your attention or intention might be towards your bigger self and/or something even bigger than that!
