THE TANTRIC YAMAS & NIYAMAS: SIDDHANTA SHRAVANA
When it comes to spiritual growth, knowledge can be a powerful tool. The Niyama of Siddhanta Sravana focuses on understanding the teachings of the Hindu scriptures, and invites us to explore our own spiritual nature through these teachings.
And while there is certainly value in reading books on spirituality and religion, upholding this particular Niyama requires more than just that. To truly tap into the wisdom of these ancient teachings, we must seek out opportunities to listen to the insights of spiritual leaders themselves.
By taking time to engage with those who have dedicated their lives to studying the ancient teachings, we can dive deeper into our own spiritual practice and discover new ways to connect with our inner selves.
Through listening, we can cultivate a more refined soul and deepen our understanding through transmission of multiple layers of unseen information. After all, in order for Siddhanta Sravana to be fully realised, it must be practiced, embodied and integrated in real-life experiences that illuminate the truth of divinity within us all.
The ability to listen is ever so powerful. We can get so caught up in our own stories and beliefs at times, but this can take away from the ability to be guided into something new. This week on the mat, we invite you to leave who you think you are at the door and dive deep into your practice. Learn to listen to your higher self and see where that can take you.
