Are you new to yoga? Are you looking for a course that will teach you the fundamentals of each pose so that you can practice safely and with confidence? Or perhaps you've been practicing for a little while now, but you're looking to fine tune your postural practice?
The number one concern for many asana practitioners is that they’re doing it safely and correctly. In the grand scheme of things, the asana portion of yoga is a tiny piece of the puzzle. For the beginner though, it’s a very important piece. We want to feel safe and secure in our physical structure to then have the ability to let go into deeper aspects of the practice.
In this Fundamentals Workshop, Chris will strip everything back to basics to have you feeling structurally sound, safe and secure. With stability comes space for exploration. Topics covered will be:
* Tadasana (Mountain Pose) The foundation of all the poses
* Hip Awareness: Solid access point for stability
* Spine Awareness: Tradition says a yogi is the one with an awaken spine
* Feet and Hand placements: The connection to the floor
* Creating a solid seat: Ready to go deep
* Modifications: A sign of acceptance
* Power of Breath: Mirror of current state of mind
* Why Om and what is does Namaste mean?
MEET CHRIS
Chris has been teaching for 10 years, Has taught many different styles. Has a great eye for alignment. Before teaching yoga was a master trainer in fitness and just has a really good understanding of biomechanics and movement. He loves the deeper aspects of yoga which gives a deeper reason for the alignment to be on cue. Having you more concerned about the function of the pose rather than the form.
