40 Day Journey to Self Realisation: Self-realisation

40 Day Journey to Self Realisation

Week 6: SELF-REALISATION

The  culmination of our journey of Self-Realisation happens with the merging of prana and consciousness in the central energy channel. This channel is closely connected with the spine, (Sushumna Nadi). This is at the heart of Kundalini Tantra.

Before an awakening of the central channel can occur, first it must be ‘accessed’ or opened. A proficient strategy is the practice of ‘Nadi Shodhana’ (alternate nostril breathing). Balancing both the Pigala and Ida Nadis, left and right hemispheres of the brain, and sides of the spine, creates an opening. This can happen spontaneously throughout the day every ninety minutes or so, although we are looking for a more sustained opening.

This process allows us to see ourselves through a different lens; a higher perspective. When we are stuck in the lower three worlds, the vision of our self and the world is clouded by all the karmic debris. Through practice, we can choose to shake it up and stir it around, and then bring it up and out through the activated spine. This helps us to see ourself and the world more clearly.
