PRANA IN THE HEART

In the sacred journey of yoga, as our practice deepens, we begin to perceive subtle layers of energy that shape our inner and outer experience. At Bhav Yoga Studio, our current teacher training is immersing us in the transformative wisdom of Prana, especially its radiant solar aspect and deep connection to the heart center.

Prana is the life force that animates all beings. It flows through nadis—the subtle channels of energy—nourishing body, mind, and soul. As we become more attuned to this flow, we awaken to a field of intelligence far greater than our individual sense of self.

The solar Prana represents clarity, vitality, and expansion—much like the sun, it warms, illuminates, and awakens what lies dormant. It stirs our inner fire, brings energy to stagnation, and reconnects us to our inherent strength and purpose.

At the center of this energetic awakening is the heart—not just as an emotional symbol, but as a profound spiritual center. The Anahata Chakra is where individual and collective consciousness meet. It is the bridge between the physical and the spiritual, where love, awareness, and connection arise. When we awaken Prana in the heart, we access a space of boundless compassion and deep inner knowing.

Pose categories like backbends, lateral poses, and intentional breat-hwork help unlock this space. They stimulate the flow of Prana to the heart, clearing tension and allowing energy to move freely. As we breathe, move, and become still, we begin to feel the pulse of life—not just within ourselves, but as something shared, something whole.

Pranayama techniques such as Surya Bhedana and Kapalabhati help direct this solar force inward, refining our awareness and aligning us with the rhythms of nature and spirit. The breath becomes a bridge between the seen and unseen, guiding us deeper into presence.

To awaken Prana in the heart is to step into the fullness of who we are—and to remember that we are not alone. The light within us is the light in all. At Bhav, we honour this sacred connection as both a personal practice and a shared awakening. May we continue to open our hearts, breathe deeply, and shine from within.
